Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Fairview University. My name is Daniel, and I'll be your guide for this orientation session. Before we start the campus tour, let me cover a few essentials. First, ID cards: all new students need to collect their student ID card from the Student Services building, which is the modern glass building just behind the main library — not the library itself, so please don't queue there. You'll need your admission letter and a form of photo ID. The Student Services building opens at eight thirty each morning. Second, timetables: your personalised timetable will be emailed to your university account by Friday, so please check your inbox rather than the noticeboards, which are only updated for general announcements. Third, the library: opening hours during term time are seven in the morning until midnight, seven days a week, though the front desk itself only operates from nine until six. Your student card doubles as your library card, so you won't need a separate registration for that. Fourth, if you're interested in sport, the Fairview Sports Centre is a short walk from the main gate, and membership is free for the first semester — you can sign up any time during induction week at a stand in the main hall. For food, the central dining hall serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekdays, and there are two smaller cafés on campus that stay open later for students working in the library. Finally, if you have any accessibility requirements, the Disability and Wellbeing office is on the ground floor of the Student Services building as well, right next to the ID collection desk.
