Good morning, and welcome to Brightleaf Studio — I'm Marcus from HR, and I'll be running through your first-day orientation before you meet the rest of the team. First, your desk and equipment: your laptop and access badge are already waiting at your desk on the second floor, but the badge won't activate the building's front door until IT has processed your account, which usually takes until lunchtime on your first day — so for this morning, you'll need to be buzzed in at reception. Second, your email and systems access: IT will send you a welcome email with your login details by the end of today, but if it hasn't arrived by four o'clock, go directly to the IT desk on the third floor rather than waiting, since delays are sometimes caused by a typo in your employee record. Third, the induction schedule: you'll have a short meeting with your line manager at eleven this morning, followed by lunch with the wider team at half past twelve, and then a building tour at two, which covers fire exits, the kitchen, and the meeting rooms. Fourth, parking: if you're driving in, visitor spaces at the front are not for staff use — staff parking is around the back of the building, and you'll need to register your car's number plate with reception within your first week, or the barrier won't recognise you. Fifth, working hours: core hours here are ten until four, but most staff choose to start earlier or finish later around that, as long as they complete a full seven and a half hours each day. Timesheets aren't required, but you are expected to keep your calendar up to date so colleagues can see when you're available. Finally, probation: your first three months are a probationary period, with a short review meeting at six weeks and a longer one at the end of month three — there's nothing to prepare for either, they're really just a chance to check in and make sure everything's going well. That's everything for this morning — let's go and introduce you to the team.
