Welcome to Riverside Community Library, and thank you for joining today's induction session for new members. My name is Priya, and I'll walk you through how the library works before you start browsing. First, membership cards: your card was issued to you at the front desk when you registered, and it doubles as your access card for the study rooms on the second floor. If you've lost your card, you can request a replacement at the front desk for a small fee of two pounds. Second, borrowing limits: standard members can borrow up to eight items at a time, for three weeks, with the option to renew online twice before the item is due back. Reference books marked with a red sticker cannot be borrowed and must stay in the building. Third, the study rooms: these are bookable in advance through the library website, in two-hour slots, and are especially popular during exam periods, so we recommend booking at least a week ahead if you can. Fourth, printing and scanning: the self-service machines on the ground floor accept coins or card payment, and printing costs ten pence per page in black and white. If you need help using them, a librarian is usually stationed nearby during opening hours. Finally, a quick note on quiet areas: the third floor is a strict silent study zone, while the ground and second floors allow quiet conversation.
